Ski Adventures and Travel: A Glimpse into Packing for Austria

Traveling can be a transformative experience, offering new adventures, cultures, and memories. Ski trips, in particular, are an exhilarating blend of nature, sport, and style. Last year, Owen and I embarked on a journey to France, exploring various ski resorts and immersing ourselves in the unique ambiance each destination had to offer. Our journey took us to seven or eight resorts in the Savoy region, a trip that was both enlightening and endlessly fun. I documented our experiences in a series of videos, which provide valuable insights for anyone planning a ski adventure in France.

From France to Austria: A New Adventure

This year, our wanderlust drives us to Austria, a country renowned for its picturesque ski landscapes and charming villages. With a new destination on the horizon, it’s essential to revamp our packing strategies and ensure we have everything we need for another unforgettable adventure.

Past Packing…

Reflecting on my packing from last year, I realized my approach to dressing and packing has evolved. Influences from social media platforms like TikTok have shown me new ways to dress that align with my body type and aesthetic preferences. Observing people with similar builds has inspired me to experiment with my style, moving away from a casual, relaxed look to a more chic and mindful wardrobe. This year, I aim to be more intentional about my outfits, ensuring that every piece I pack is not only fashionable but also functional for the trip.

Strategic Outfit Planning

Effective packing is the key to a successful trip, especially when your luggage must accommodate bulky ski gear. Here's how I plan to optimize my packing while maintaining my newfound chic style:

Trying On and Testing Outfits

One strategy I adopted from a fashion influencer I follow is to try on potential outfits before traveling. This helps to curate combinations that work well together, reducing the need for decision-making while on the go. By experimenting with different pieces, I can ensure they form cohesive outfits that are both stylish and practical for various occasions.

Photographing Outfits

A valuable trick I recommend is photographing yourself in each outfit. This allows for an objective view of how the clothes fit and look. It’s easier to spot if something is too tight, too loose, or unflattering in a photo than in a mirror. This technique has saved me from packing or purchasing items that don't complement my body or style.

Thoughtful Travel Strategies

Every seasoned traveler knows that the packing process involves more than just clothes. Space and weight management are crucial, especially when dealing with heavy ski equipment. Here are some tips to ensure you’re efficiently packed for your ski trip:

Managing Luggage Weight

To accommodate heavy ski gear, it’s important to minimize the weight and volume of other items. This year, I intend to pack only the essentials and leave room for any potential purchases I might make in Austria. By keeping non-ski clothing minimal, I can ensure I have enough space and weight capacity for everything I need.

Streamlining Supplements

A noteworthy part of my travel preparation involves bringing health supplements. While last year I carried a variety of supplements, from probiotics to cleanse pills, this year, I’m focusing on prioritizing and streamlining what I bring. Here’s a glimpse into my revised list of travel supplements:

Probiotics: Though I didn’t get them this time, multiple friends have emphasized their importance for avoiding food-related illnesses.

Sea Salt Toothpaste: I’ve heard excellent things about its benefits.

Tongue Scraper: Despite my initial reluctance, the potential health benefits convinced me to give it a try.

Biotin: Inspired by a friend’s luscious braids, I’m including this to improve hair health.

Blue-Green Algae: Though I can’t quite recall its specific benefits (oops) it’s reputed to be highly beneficial.

Chasteberry: Recommended for hormonal health, this supplement is especially pertinent given my tendencies toward ovarian cysts.

To save space, I plan to transfer these supplements into smaller containers.

Last-Minute Touches

Before any trip, a few last-minute preparations are inevitable. Amazon became my go-to for last-minute travel necessities. Apart from supplements, I purchased a few practical items like Press-on Nails, ensuring my grooming stays on point during the trip.
